Micah Parsons: 'Daniel Jones should've got pulled out' in blowout loss to Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons played a major role in their 40-0 blowout win over the New York Giants, but even he was wondering why quarterback Daniel Jones played when the game was out of reach.
In the "Sunday Night Football" season opener, the Cowboys defense made it a nightmare for Jones, as he threw for only 104 yards while throwing two interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown. Jones was also sacked seven times.
But when the game was clearly over, Jones remained in the game until there was a little more than three minutes left in the game, the penultimate drive for New York.
'Daniel Jones should've got pulled out'
On his "The Edge with Micah Parsons" podcast, Parsons questioned why head coach Brian Daboll left Jones in for nearly the entire game.

"I don't think Daniel Jones should have been in that game in the fourth quarter," he said. "I thought they should have protected him and pulled him out and barring injury, their season will be over without Daniel Jones."
Parsons compared the decision to Joe Burrow, who was pulled in the Cincinnati Bengals' Week 1 dud against the Cleveland Browns. After becoming the NFL's highest-paid player, Parsons said it made sense for Cincinnati to pull its quarterback and just take the loss, and that same reasoning should've been applied to Jones. The Giants quarterback signed a four-year, $160 million contract during the offseason.
"I thought that was wrong. I thought it was deceiving," Parsons said. "That's your franchise quarterback and he's out there with a backup offensive line, still getting sacked and hit. I just don't understand. Maybe it was a prove-it moment by the Giants. I have no idea, a learning lesson, who knows. But I thought Daniel Jones should've got pulled out."
Why did Daniel Jones stay in during Giants loss to Cowboys?
Parsons wasn't the only person wondering why Jones stayed in, as several fans and media questioned the decision. When Daboll was asked postgame why Jones was kept in, he said it was trying "to get something positive going there."
Jones also defended the decision to stay in, saying he wanted to stay in and there "wasn't any conversation" about removing him.
